Online Wedding Album

Our “official” online wedding album is ready at last! Shots by professional photographer, Adrian Shields, and post-production by myself.

If you would like copies of any of the photos just drop me an email and I’ll be more than happy to arrange something for you. I will also be putting a printed album together as well, similar to what you may have seen on the coffee table at The Bend, so if you would like a copy then let me know. I expect it will cost about £30-£40 each and should be ready early in the new year (if not sooner).

Your Photos!

As I mentioned before, I am hoping in the coming weeks to put together an online album of the best of your photos. I also hope to include some of your photos in the printed photo album. To archive this I need original full resolution copies of your photos. So if it’s not too much trouble, could I ask you to burn a CD-ROM and post to my work address :

Mr Chris Skitch Shell Centre York Road London SE1 7NA United Kingdom

If you have fast broadband and can ftp upload, then let me know and I will send you my details instead of posting a CD-ROM. (P.S. Thanks Lizzo and Trine for sending yours already!)

Your Stories!

Also don’t forget to contribute your own stories about the festival! Jo Mayes wrote a wonderful account of the Rorkes Drift flat tyre debacle (thanks Jo!), but we want to hear more. In years to come I’m sure future generations will find it interesting. And don’t worry if you think it’s a bit risqué, we want to hear it all! So please when you get a chance we would greatly appreciate a few words to comments section of the festival report:

For those who might be interested, I thought I would mention something of the post-production work I performed on the professional photos. I negotiate with Adrian for him to supply me all the RAW digital shots he took. This allowed us to save a little money, but more importantly it gave me greater creative control and it also allowed me to develop further my general interest in photography. I would not recommend this approach for everyone as it is quite time consuming, however if you are interested then it can be very satisfying. So for the past few Sundays I have been teaching myself all about this wonderful RAW format. It is quite amazing what can be achieved when working with a RAW file. Basically it contains all the information the lenses captures thereby allowing you to make adjustments afterwards that you would normally need to do in-camera. The main controls are white balance, exposure and colour grading, however there are many others minor settings that can be adjusted too. Specialist software is required and after some experimenting I settled on Adobe Lightroom v1.2. After watching a few online tutorials I quickly became comfortable using the tool and found the results absolutely stunning. Here’s a couple of examples to give you an idea of what it’s all about. They are not the bset examples however it late on a Sunday and I want to put this post to bed!
